Saturday Sketch and Color challenge

For this card I used two challenges:
a sketch and a color challenge.

The sketch challenge is from the

and the color chahellange is from

The bold letters are the Alphabet stamps by
Michael Strong and the birthday die cut is
from thinlits by Tim Holtz.

The letters are stamped and embossed with
white embossing powder. Next they are cut with
an oval punch  3/4"x 1 1/2".

The flowers are also by Michael Strong and embossed
with white embossing powder. These flowers have
matching metal dies to cut them with, but are also
easy to cut by hand. On each flower is a sticky gemstone.

Club Scrap May Artist Team Challenge: Mash Up

Hello Crafters!
Here is the Club Scrap Artist Team for you with a challenge
to let the creativity flow. This month we were asked to create
a project, lay out or card with at least materials from 2 different
collections. This can be papers, stamps or embellishments. It all
starts at the Club Scrap Blog.

I hope you have arrived here from
Jennifer's Blog and seen what her ideas where.

I put my thinking cap on and came up with these cute
little booklets for my grandson, who just loves to draw.
I went trough all my boxes and picked out some papers
that match nicely together.
What do you need to make one booklet:
1x cardstock 5.5 x 8 inch
1x cardstock 5.5 x 3 inch
a piece of ribbon (aprox. 17 inch)
one button
some copy paper
needle and a piece of cotton or waxed linnen thread.

For my forst booklet I used a piece of Graffiti paper
and a button from the Sprinkles kit (PSL 2012).
I folded the cardstock in half and fastned the
button to the front of the booklet with a piece
of raffia. Leaving the raffia on the button for
closing the book when finished.

Take the copy paper. I used 4 pieces and cut them to
5 1/4 x 7 3/4 inch. Fold it in half, punch some holes
in the center and sew these pages into the cardstock cover.
Now to cover the sewing and decorate the booklet,
take the piece of 5.5 x 3 inch and fold in half.
I used a piece of decorative Picknick paper. You can blue
it with tape of bookbinding glue.

Now glue the strip of cardstock to the booklet

and close the book with the raffia.
You can do a bow or tie it around.

Here are the 3 books I made before derorated.
You recognize the different papers?

For decoration I used the stamps from
this months Adirondacks kit on the red banner.
On the middle booklet it is Creative Licence and National
Parks stamps. On the last booklet you see the
elephant and sentiment from the 2007 Serengeti kit.
You can see Owen loved the little booklets
and when he came from school I asked him which
one he liked best to start drwing in: of course
he picked the elephant. He loves wild animals.
Owen busy making his first drawing.

Here the inside with Owen's first drawing!
These mini booklets are super to take with you in your
purse with a small package of  pencils. This way you
can draw everywhere.

And now over to
and see her inspiration.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!

A bit of bling on ATC's

I made these atc's for the challenge on the
This week it is to add a little bling to your card.

For the background of the cards I was inspired
by the tutorial of monoprinting on Splitcoaststampers here.

This was the result and after cutting them all to ATC size
(3,5x2,5 inch) I had some bits left that I used for the
fourth card by weaving the strips together.

All papers and rubber stamps are by Club Scrap
but are from an old kit called Transformations.
The panda die is from Marianne Design.

card 1: gemstones and gold embossing

card 2: gemstones and gold embossing

card 3: Here is the woven background
and bamboo out of golden paper.

card 4: silver embossed bamboo
stamped on the monoprint background.

Thank you for looking

Club Scrap May Technique Challenge: Stamping on the Edge

Every month their is a technique challeng on the
One of the members of the Artist Team will come up with
a fun technique to try, this month it is Roni Johnson.
She came up with the idea of doing this "stamping on the edge".

As I neede a birthday card for my SIL, who loves to cook, I got
out my Club Scrap 50's Kitchen stamps from March 2015.
After stamping the big collage stamp and coloring some of
the images with pencil, I cut them out with a scissor.

The blue background is embossed with this fun kitchen
embossing folder (sorry no firm is mentioned on this).
The sentiment is also a stamp from the 50's kit.

For the technique of the "stamping on the edge" you see
a tutorial on the Club Scrap blog HERE.

So after I finished the embossed panel I arranged the tableware
on the edge and cut away part of the blue embossed paper.
I used some of the left over scraps inside the card.

Isn't this a fun technique?
I hope you give this a try too and link your card to the Club Scrap blog,
using at least 50% Club Scrap materials.

Thanks for looking and have a creative day!

Happy Mother's Day

Here is another chocolate box.
This one is for my own Mom.
The picture you see here is the first day she
became a mom. Yes, I am her firstborn.

I am fantasizing, that maybe I am born with a cup
of coffee near me! Hi hi :-)
Well, it is a great day for choclates, coffee
and a starbucks gift card!
Here is the cutting template for the boc.
It is a piece of cardstock of 4,5 x 11,5 inch
and on top it hides a gift card.
You can safe the template to your computer and print it
for all the score lines. Let me know if something is
not clear. The striped parts of the template need to be cut away.

The little 1,5 x 1,5 inch square is glued to the sides
of the box and closes it off, so you need to enter
the chocolate before you glue them on.
I made this opening by using a thinlit,
but you can use any shape, or leave it closed.
On top of the box I used a little left over piece
from yesterday with Michael Strong's Lily stamp,

Here you see the box before I added
the picture frame. The top is folded towards the
front and glued with tape, then you can add
the gift card inside.
You can also decorete the front directly on th
cardstock, but because the frame is a little bigger,
I added it later on.

The coffee cup and the frame stamp
are stamps by Michael Strong.

The semtiment , banner and banner thinlit are
all by Stampin'Up!.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day
to all Mom's.

Thank you for looking
and have a creative day!
